National Community College Benchmark Project

Responding to requirements for inter-institutional comparisons, Johnson County Community College established the National Community College Benchmark Project (NCCBP) with other colleges from across the United States to standardize a nation-wide benchmark reporting process.

Since 2004, 391 community colleges have participated in the current data-collection and reporting process. 280 community colleges from across the United States participated in NCCBP in 2011.

National Higher Education Benchmarking Institute

The National Higher Education Benchmarking Institute at Johnson County Community College currently works with more than 450 community colleges on two national data consortia, the National Community College Benchmarking Project (NCCBP) and the Kansas Study of Community College Instructional Cost and Productivity.

This makes us the largest provider of community college benchmarking and peer comparison services in the nation.

Higher Education Accountability

Community colleges have been under increasing pressure to demonstrate effectiveness to federal, state, and accrediting agencies, which require comparisons with others on effectiveness and outcome measures. The NCCBP and the Kansas Study were created to fulfill this need.
